The vibrant community showcases the city's rich history, culture, and natural beauty. The name "Bangkal" is derived from a tree called bangkal,   a type of tree native to the Philippines. The area was once abundant with these trees, which is why it was named after them. This was the case even before the arrival of the Spanish and other conquerors.
